Thought of the Day: May 18, 2018 – Using Technology
How are you using technology to improve your life, make things easier or make an income?
Technology is a major part of our lives, from the moment we wake up to when we go to sleep. We come in contact with alarm clocks, mobile phones, computers, elevators, traffic cameras, watches and even the clothes we wear.
Is the use of technology positive or negative for the advancement of society?
As a kid in the 80’s we did not have anything like the technology we have today. Everything has gotten better from phones, computers, televisions, video and audio recording devices, music players, email, cars, homes, transportation, buildings, work spaces and thousands of others things we use daily.
By using and developing new technology we have been able to discover new things about our vast universe. We have also been able to have critical breakthroughs in medicine.
Are you using technology to get more done? Or are you like many people who have a Smartphone and don’t use it to its full capabilities?
There are thousands of available for download on your phone ranging from Books, Business, Communication, Education, Finances, Health, Lifestyle, Productivity, Social or Travel.
All these apps can help you gain a competitive advantage if you learn to utilize them.
Technology is not going anywhere and we need to embrace it. You can use technology to take care of all the small things you do not want to think about.
With the right technology you can get things done faster and accomplish more in the day. With the ability to streamline information have access to it anytime you are able to same time and money.
When you are able to do both, you become productive and potentially more creative. There are people who spend their day developing new technology to make your life simpler. These people are changing the world.
There are a few quick things about technology you should remember. You can get lost in it, inundated with it or find ways to fuel your additions. With all the power at your fingertips, do not fall into old traps.
Technology should be to create good but it can create evil. Look at the worlds political problems. One countries technology that can stop a war, is their enemy’s reason to continue.
I recommend you use technology but find a way to put a filter on how much you use. It is important to turn off your phone, computer and TV at home. At work, get away from your computer by taking a walk, over lunch.
Although you can interact with anyone from around the world with the smartphone in your hand, sometimes we have to choose to interact with real people.
