Thought of the Day: April 19, 2018 – The First Step
Lao Tzu said, “The Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” This means the first step is the most important one to take. Every other step cannot happen if the first one does not exist.
What is the first move you need to take but have been reluctant to take? Are you afraid to start a business, take action on your hobby or join a group?
If you are not able to take that first step, it is important to know why you are not able to do so. What do you fear? Is failure a part of your belief system before you ever start?
If it is you may never take the first step. This is because you believe there is no value to begin because you will only end up failing at the end.
I am telling you to start and not focus on the outcome. Whatever outcome you imagine you will have at the end, can change. The way you will ultimately accomplish your goal will also most likely change.
If you are not able to take the first step then ask someone for help. Be accountable to them if you cannot be accountable to yourself. You will thank yourself when you reflect on the past.
