Thought of the Day: January 17, 2018 – State of Meditation
At what point in the day are you in a state of meditation? Is it when you are sitting down on the floor cross-legged and reading the mantra, OM?
It being in a state of mediation require you to go to remote mountains in India where you have to meet a guru and practice?
Can you be in a state of mediation outside of the tradition methods that we have been told are meditation? Will you find it sitting and having a cup of tea, in a conversation, walking or watching television?
I believe the answer to this is yes.
You can go out into nature and focus on your walk and your breathing. All you have to do is be mindful of where you are and your surroundings. Enjoy the ever-changing beauty that is around you. You do not have to close your eyes to find enlightenment.
Nature is a great teacher.
If you believe the old truth, that mediation only happens in a room where you have to sit cross-legged, with our eyes closed, breathing in and out, you might be missing out on important things happening around you.
The state of enlightenment is all around you and you have to look within yourself to notice it…
