Thought of the Day: January 16, 2018 – Reconnecting
When was the last time you took time out of your day and spent some time reconnecting to people you have not seen or spoken to? Has been weeks, months or even years.
All to often we get so busy in our daily routine that we forge to connect with those we would like to.
But there are social media apps like Facebook, that allow you to add as many people to your social network. But I find most of us really never chat with our social network friends.
I am guilty of this. I have over 400 friends and connect with only a few. Why is it we do this?
Perhaps many of us only connect with those people we like being around or have something in common.
Far too many of us have let relationships fade away instead of growing them. It’s not because we don’t want to connect with friends and family. I believe it is because our lives have become so busy. We have so many other important things happening in our life.
It is so easy to say, I’ll try that person tomorrow. We make excuses.
Maybe 2018 is the time to reconnect with those friends and family members you have not contact with.
But before you do, consider if that would add value to your life or if you would add value to theirs.
Sometimes we need to move on and not focus on the past relationships, rather on building future relationships that add value, grow us and help us see maybe somethings really are better left undone…
