Thought of the Day: May 11, 2018 – Positive Attitude
When you begin to set goals it is always best to have a positive attitude towards them. Your attitude will decide what opportunities come your way. It will also determine how you attack challenges that come to you in life.
Every day you wake up and have a choice. How you decide to react to the things that happen to you during the day will define the moments to come.
You can act negatively to situations or look for a way to react positively. From the moment your alarm goes off you have a choice to be negative or wake up with a positive attitude.
You can say, “Awesome, time to get up and start this wonderful day.” Or you can say, “I am tired. I need more sleep. How is it 6am already?”
The words you say when you get up will dictate the next step you take. Either you roll out of bed or you can roll over and hit the snooze. Break the negative habits that you may have created with going back to bed.
If you decide to roll out of bed complaining you day will be just that, one big complaint. You may not realize it but most of your day may be spent taking in negative. And if negative goes in, guess what comes out?
I would recommend instead of turning off media and take 10 minutes each day to repeat positive affirmations. This helps me get in the right mind-set to go accomplish what I have planned for my day.
On your way to work, I would recommend you make your car, train ride ect, a university on wheels.
Take the time to learn something new that can help you succeed at work, life or in your marriage. The more you succeed the more your attitude becomes positive.
Now I understand you may start the day with positive intentions but soon negative can creep into your day. When this happens, how will you combat this?
Look for constructive ways to handle the negative. You have a choice to develop the mindset to be self-confident.
I believe there are a few things you can do to ensure you are focusing on a positive attitude.
- Smile
- Show Gratitude
- Set small and big goals
- Don’t compare yourself to others
- Dress well, no matter where you go
- Exercise each day
- Eat healthy food
- Do breathing exercises
- Meditate
- Walk to someone you trust
Your good attitude attracts the right people to you. The words you say will also attract or repel people.
If you catch yourself saying anything negative, correct it right away with a positive statement. This will help you reprogram yourself to become the person you want to be.
