Thought of the Day: February 14, 2018 – Helping
Helping others is one of the greatest joys in life. You many not feel this, could be that you choose to be helped versus help others?
When you help others you feel satisfied knowing that you are able to make a difference in someone’s life. Even the smallest gesture can help someone, including a simple smile.
I notice many times I am quick to want to help others but ask myself how quick are others wanting to help me?
Then ask myself a second question, wondering if this matters or not?
If I can help others I will and it does not matter if they can “repay” the favor. In some instances it would be nice if others just offered to come and lead you a hand.
Who are you helping if you agree to help someone do something? Are you helping yourself or are you looking out for their best interest?
Are you willing to help some people but not everyone who asks? Do you pick and choose?
What criteria do you use in your decision-making process when it comes to helping?
Is it the same standard for everyone or do you have different levels of consideration based on past experience?
