Thought of the Day: May 28, 2018 – Family Opportunities
Do you see all the family opportunities that can be available to you if everyone worked together for a common goal?
I really hope you do because for me, I look for ways to create a better family with my wife and daughter.
Because you and I already work hard for our family to succeed so why not look for more opportunities that could service the families goals?
Do you believe your family is a team?
As a team it is important that everyone communicate openly. Learn something new about each member of the family or find out something new they learned that day. I believe we all learn something new each day and should share it.
You will find thing can improve relationships within the family.
Growing up in the 80’s, my parents did their best to spend quality family time. Although we never ate at the dining table together, my parents always asked about my day. They would help with homework and tell stories from when they were my age.
They would teach my sister and I right from wrong and explain to us how and why we need to live a moral life. My family opportunities become with my parents taking an interest in being parents.
Now that I am married, it is important for me to take what I have learnt and teach it to my daughter. The opportunities that i have, allow me to build a foundation, so I can improve myself and my family life.
Working for my families goals, with my wife, means we look for ways to increase our families opportunities into the future.
Family goals are comprised of individual goals. They are also joint goals based on where the family wants to be. Each week when you sit down you should see if everyone in the family is working towards same goals.
If they are not, then here is where you can help members of the family get on track or with problems they might be having.
To see new opportunities come your families way, each member is going to have to think differently.
Few reasons. One, you keep things fresh. Second, you don’t get stuck in the same patterns. Three, you challenge your brain to think differently.
If you family is not growing and seeing the kind of breaks, you hope it would you may need to eliminate distractions. Creating new opportunities is about staying focused on what you have set out to accomplish.
In hindsight, I wish my parents would have spent more time together as a family. I believe the young mind is a great place to plant seeds for future growth.
What you should do is have family time where you sit and discuss ideas each member of the family has. You can all brainstorm together. It’s about helping them think so they can grow and see things from a different perspective.
Opportunities for the family come in many ways such as,
- Expanding on business ideas member of the family have.
- Looking for ways to save money, make money and spend money as a family.
- Look for hobbies the family can do together. Can this become a successful business?
- Volunteer your time to a worthy cause as a family.
This can be done on the weekends, during “television time.” You have a vision. Act on it and create new opportunity for each member in the family to succeed.
Will you start today and find ways for your family to create opportunities?
