Thought of the Day: June 18, 2018 – Families Taking Ownership
Families taking ownership is how communication starts. This is the first step in understanding how you will have a great relationship with your spouse and raise your kids.
If you have a healthy relationship with your spouse chances are you will also have a healthy relationship with your kids.
Have you ever considered how you treat your spouse or how does your spouse treat you?
How do you react to each other when you’re around the your kids? What is your reaction when your kids so something wrong?
When you have a positive attitude and no ego, you are aware of how you want to treat them. It lines up with your believes of who you are.
Does your family have an understand of each member? How about some goals?
If so, your families taking ownership for its future. In my opinion it is responsibility of the parents to help their kids get on the path they have chosen. Parents need to encourage when their children fail or have set backs.
Adults have a responsibility towards each other. Both spouses are responsible for themselves and to each other. If you know your spouse is not headed in the direction then you must talk to each other. Find out what is holding the other person back.
When families take ownership it is easy to criticize someone’s faults. Instead inspire them to go out and learn how to move forward. Do not judge them. Rather help them get back. Ask questions, listen, understand and/or help your family member through their problems.
Taking ownership means:
- Focusing on what is important.
- Cutting out non-essential television time.
- Get the required education for each family member and their individual goals.
- Focus on the health of the family
- Eat one meal together. Build family bonding time.
- Setting goal and helping each other succeed.
- Regardless of who’s fault, everyone steps up to get the job done.
- Be a positive example for your family to follow.
I would love to hear about and see more families taking ownership for the results of the household. But I am aware, you cannot make them change or take ownership.
All you can do is led by example. Hopefully they will see you your work ethic and want to emulate it. It is your responsibly to control of the environment. Choose wisely.
