Thought of the Day: June 8, 2018 – Creating Change
Are you willing to change something about your life to get what you want?
If you are, then the direction you head in will also change.
I believe the late Michael Jackson said it best, “ I’m starting with the man in the mirror. I’m asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer. If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, and then make a change”
What better time than today to start? Why wait till tomorrow. Like your mom told you, “Tomorrow never comes.”
How true is that! We are creatures of procrastination. Wanting to put important things off until another day.
In order to start the change process it is important not to over analyze your life but to view it as it is. You might ask yourself a few questions such as; What do I like about myself? What don’t I like about myself? Am I willing to change? What holds me back from becoming what I want to be?
To become a new you, you will face new challenges.
What you do daily will help you stay on track or get you so far of track that you get lost in your external desires.
Make a list of things you would like to change about yourself. Then make a list of things you have to do each day so the change you want can happen.
Maybe you wake up an hour early, exercise, eat healthy foods, reading, listening to podcasts, find a way to help people, make 100 sales calls a day, you reach out to previous clients and/or you take a course. No matter what it is, you will have to find time to do all these new activates. And in orders to do them, you must give up non-productive activities.
You can start by changing the way you think. Figure out why you hold such beliefs. Many times beliefs stem from how you grew up, the influences of friends and family, the media and/or social media.
Once you determine the root cause of your thoughts and beliefs, you can begin to change your internal being. You can do this by setting some goals.
Change will not happen overnight and you may give up on wanting to. Changing who you are takes time and effort.
You may work on yourself a lifetime to become the person you envision today. You can accomplish this faster when you stop focusing on what you cannot control and stop comparing your success to the success of other.
If you do not modify your behaviours, overtime you will be left behind. Not only in your thinking but in life.
More than ever you need to keep an open mind and adjust with the future. Do not fight change as it will run over you if you put of a struggle.
You have nothing to lose if you transform your life for the better.
