Thought of the Day: May 22, 2018 – Business Technology
If you are the owner of a business or the employee, are you using the latest business technology to be successful?
Understanding how to use the best technology available can help you make larger profits and have a work force that is more productive. This is a win-win for everyone from the developer of the applications to the end users.
So how are you using the technology you have to be successful in our changing world?
Today the average person works 40 – 60+ hours a week. With the advancements we have made we are able to get more done, faster and in the end are expected to accomplish more from our virtual plate.
For the business owners, the competitive landscape is getting more challenging as companies have unlimited information available. Companies need to not only invest in technology but need to invest in a sales program to help their staff sell their technology.
If you are the boss of a company and/or have a team of manager and supervisor, is everyone keeping up with changes in technology?
Do you know what programs/systems you have in place and why they are effective/ineffective?
What business tools are you using to ensure your business grows and does not become obsolete in a few years? Does your management and employee team have the proper tools to run their departments effectively?
Could upgrading to newer technology get you the results your business needs to turn a profit?
How are you track monthly numbers? Are you growing, staying the same or shirking in your market share?
Did you know, there are hundreds of companies looking to help you answer these questions?
As a manager or employee of the business, do you have systems in place updating customers in real-time or allowing them to contact you with no barriers?
If you want to ensure the success of a company, ensure the success of your employees. Make sure everyone is up to date on the technology the company uses. Train or retrain staff on how to best use the tools and systems the company has in place.
Take time to know the goals of each member on your team. What are their strengths and weaknesses? Good business management tools can help you with this.
Invest in the education of your employees. The more you invest in them, the better your return on investment will be through profits, moral and skilled labour.
As the employee of the a company I believe you should always want to learn new business technology. Your goal is to make yourself so valuable that your company can not replace you with Artificial Intelligence.
With the business tools available remember to build relationships with vendors, sales agents, clients, prospects and past sellers who are not buying for you. Use the telephone, email and drop in to their office to build strong relationships.
Technology is change how business is done. Don’t get left behind. It is time to take advantage of what is available to you. Sometimes you have to take the course, buy the software or develop a technology that does not exist, all with your own money.
