What is your favorite way to relax and boost energy in your body?
Below I look at 5 simple ways where you can rest, increase your energy and boost productivity.
Come Monday morning you might be the most energetic person in the office.
5 Ways to Rest and Boost Energy
Whether you enjoy reading fiction, non-fiction, self-help, history, romance, religion, business or technical, you have a wide range of topics you can learn or ready about.
During the week, many of us do not get a chance to read because our days are so mentally exhausting. We do not find 10-15 minutes to read. Instead we sit inform of the television for hours, before bed.
If you can make 5-15 min before you turn off the lights and go to sleep, this would be a good time to help unwind your mind.
You wake up on the weekend. You make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. Find a quiet place to sit first, pick up a book that you want to read and read for 10-30 minutes.
You’ll start to find that more interesting the book, the more you get drawn into the book. You man ever lose tract of time and continue to read well past the amount of time you were going to read for.
I recommend that you pick a book which you can learn from and apply the information to your life. Personally, I look for books that can help me provide insight to others when they ask me a personal question.
I am not saying you should do this but for me I want to help others discover who they are and can be.
If you were to read 1 book per week, from age 20 to 70, you would read 2600 books in 50 years.
This is the reason I say make sure you choose the right book to read. Your future is counting on it. All while you find ways to rest up and boost energy.
Take A Bath
Do you remember when the last time you took a nice long relaxing and rejuvenating bath?
For many of you it has been years.
There is something about laying in warm to hot water that takes the stress away. Stress just seems to melt away, as the warm water allow you to take your focus of your problems for a short while.
You do not even have to sit in the bath for a long time to experience relaxation and an increase in your energy levels. Maybe 10-15 minutes is enough. Just that short amount of time will relax your body, mind and soul.
Being in the hot water can also bring out new ideas on who to complete those tasks on your to do list.
Not many of us take cold water baths. I understand they can be uncomfortable and honestly don’t seem natural.
But I ask you to give a cold bath or shower a try. Cold water will wake you up. It will increase alertness and boost energy in your body.
Here is a small tip you should try. Leave your phone in a different room. The idea here is to unplug and give your mind time to relax and recover
If you are not a fan of taking a bath, no problem. I suggest going to your local swimming pool and making a day of it. If you are married and have kids, go with them. It might be fun for the family.
Have A Cup of Green Tea
The reason I recommend green tea is simple. One when you drink a glass of green tea it helps you relax. It also have caffeine, so it give you energy.
Green tea is the king of all teas. It has numerous health benefits and I would recommend Matcha Tea since it is the healthiest of all.
There is nothing wrong with having a cup of black tea, white tea, oolong tea or a nice herbal blend.
For those who not enjoy hot tea, you can try Kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented tea that contains many health benefits, including probiotics for gut health.
My wife makes Kombucha at home and you can check out her Instagram page and find out more.
There is something about sitting down with a glass of tea that is relaxing. Look at different cultures around the world and you will see tea is apart of the lifestyle and tradition.
Many cultures share a teapot between friends. This is when stories are told and bonds are created.
Finding time to sit and enjoy a cup of tea can be a relax experience. It is a sure way to boost your energy this weekend.
Go For A Walk
Walking is one of the simplest exercises you can do. It does not cost you any money and you do not have to shell out money for a monthly gym membership.
The only thing you need is a good pair of shoes, the right clothes for the weather and a path to walk.
Where you go for a walk is your choice. A community park, national park, in nature or around the neighborhood, it does not matter, as long as you enjoy the surroundings you walk in.
What I would like to suggest is to leave all your electronics at home or in the car. I believe if you are looking to relax, unplugging will do wonders for you.
Be conscious of your breathing. Take in fresh air as it will oxygenate your body. Overtime you will feel better and have more energy as well.
Massage And Spa
For those of you who have health benefits through work, take advantage of the massage coverage. There is a reason massage benefits are covered by most health work plans.
Your employer understands that you can get stressed and you need to take care of those tight muscles.
Try to go for a 30 – 60 or 90-minute massage. This is your time to loosen up your muscles and forget about the things that bring stress to you.
Today people sit anywhere between 8 and 10 hours a day at their computer desk. Not to mention most people sit when they go to work and when they come home. Sitting will causes your backs and legs muscle to get tight.
When your body is tight you do not perform to the best of your abilities and can become injury prone.
A nice relaxing massage can rejuvenate your mind and body. This relax time is for you to rest and melt the stress away.
With so many ways to rest and boost your energy, it is no wonder some people show up to work on Monday morning ready to conquer the week while others wish they had a three-day weekend.
Other things you can do to relax and increase your energy include:
- Take care of your financial situation.
- Find ways to increase your income.
- Lose weight if you are overweight.
- Find a hobby.
- Start a business
